This is a belated first post from this year’s trip to Europe. As noted before, we are incapable of creating our blog posts in anything close to real time. I guess that’s because we’re too busy each night catching up with Facebook and email to sit down to go through our pictures and write up our daily experiences.
This year we are once again in France. We’ve stretched this trip out to nearly three weeks, and we suddenly realized partway through that it’s basically three vacations strung end to end.
“Trois Bisous” is French for “three kisses,” which is the cheek kiss greeting we’ve seen repeatedly in France, starting with the customs workers at Charles de Gaulle airport at the beginning of their morning shift. Our trip of “trois bisous” has these three “kisses”:
- Three nights in Paris:
- Six nights in Provence, and
- A weeklong river cruise on the Rhône with Viking River Cruises.
